Success. Have a nice day.

Head Massage is used to relieve stress, anxiety, headaches, pain in the neck, pain in shoulder muscles, as well as common emotional and mental problems such as depression and insomnia.

This massage therapy uses a variety of stimulating and tension-releasing hand techniques on the scalp, neck, shoulders and upper arms – the areas most vulnerable to stress and tension.

How we can help you

Head Massage at AcuMedic in London can reinvigorate every part of the body by relieving tension in the key areas and unblocking the energy trapped in the muscles, thus restoring movement of joints and helping them to maintain mobility. This massage therapy is effective for untying knots and smoothing out the nodules in muscles. It treats headache right at its source and can benefit hair and scalp. The massage can help relieve eye strain and improve mental concentration.

Head Massage is often effective in easing the pain of migraine attacks. Use this massage before an attack to delay migraine or make the symptoms milder. Regular sessions of Head Massage is said to extend the periods between migraine attacks. Massaging parts of the face and scalp can help to reduce the number of tension headaches and in some cases eliminates them.

By focusing on the head, neck and shoulders this massage therapy can help reduce headaches caused by tension, eye-strain and stiffness in the neck and shoulders, which cause 60% of headaches. Head Massage can be more effective than drugs because the cause is treated as well as the symptoms, it does this by relaxing the constricted muscles that are causing the pain in the first place.

Head Massage stimulates the circulatory and immune systems and reinforces the respiratory system by encouraging deep breathing. Also, by stimulating the lymphatic system this massage therapy can help the body to cleanse and purify itself more efficiently.

+ How it works

Your head, neck, shoulders and upper arms are all interconnected though a network of nerves, veins and arteries. Head Massage therapy treats them all, concentrating on the areas most affected by emotional and physical stress and tension (the head and shoulders). The therapeutic effect is both mental and physical which can help relax the whole person.

Emotional problems commonly affect the back, shoulders, head and neck and this area is therefore prone to strains, injuries, illness and distortion of the muscles in the body and face. By using Head Massage on these areas the built-up tension can be released and can bring about a feeling of mental, emotional and physical well-being.

+ What to expect

The AcuMedic therapist will have a brief consultation with you to learn a bit about your lifestyle and to understand your health needs. You will be seated in a chair and the therapist will begin the massage by working on your head, shoulders and the neck.

Please feel free to let our massage therapist know how vigorously you wish the movements to be and how much oil you would like to be used. Traditionally Head Massage is vigorous with plenty of oil. However the therapist will be happy to provide you with a more relaxing head massage as well. If you do not wish any oils to be used in your head massage then please just say so.

Please note that Head Massage is not suitable for women less than three months into pregnancy. If suffering from epilepsy then please inform the therapist as some of the movements can be vigorous.
